little india & chinatown

Great day!

started the day off with a bit of rockclimbing, then went to little india & finished the day in chinatown.

getting ready for the rockclimbing

this stuff is so much harder than it looks!

already a pro

Arrived in Little India

little india people

& then came chinatown.

first time that I actually feel big around everyone hahha

It was actually amazing that one moment you were in Singapore with skyscrapers all around you, 2 trainstops later you were in a poor area, 1 stop later everything was indian & I mean everything, even the smell on the street, & one stop after that everything was chinese

New Years Eve

Last night of the year, I was just so happy that I was actually arrived in Singapore, not still stuck in London, or worse... In a flight somewhere on my way to Singapore.

So I went down to the Marina Bay of Singapore, which was amazing.. I watched the firework show, which I honestly thought would be more impressive than it was. In Iceland we have way more fireworks hehe

Took some more pictures but I can't upload them since I took them on my camera, I can only upload the ones I took with my phone

Getting to the subway was so hard! haha

&
once you got on the subway it wasn't any easier

i saw this car parked outside the hilton hotel. then half an hour later i hear a horrible sound like a truck breaking, look to the side and see this accident happen, within seconds the driver gets out of the car and runs away as fast as he could!  they were talking about himprobably being drunk og something, but i still dont think i could have moved after an accident like this, if not only for the shock

this is asia for you alright haha

horrible trip

Long time no see.. I promise Ill do better haha, I am finally arrived in Singapore!
I don't mean to sound ungrateful, I mean after all I'm in Asia, but the flight getting here was absolutely horrible!

Because of miscomunication between the airport staff I was denied access to my flight. I had my bags checked all the way through in Iceland but not myself checked all the way through. So upon arrival in London I was supposed to go to the baggage reclaim even if I didn't have a bag... I wasn't sure so I ask 3 people working in the airport, explaining my situation & they all say the same, sending me to the wrong place so at the end I was at the right terminal on time but since I wasn't checked in, only my bag the flight left with my seat empty.

now my possibilties were 5

1. get the ticket refunded which would be 150 pounds... 1/5 of what I actually paid plus my tickets to and from Iceland would be waisted
2. wait to get the next flight which was in 5 days, & I'd have to pay 575 pounds for that flight, which is absurd since Id basically be buying myself a new ticket.
3. get myself to Singapore, but then they told me they would not allow me to get back with the ticket I had bought with them because they're policy clearly states that if you don't use your outbound flight you can't use your inbound either..
4. wait in the airport, hoping over 6 people would cancel which would then make my ticket cheaper (since I had to pay a fee for changing the ticket plus what ever difference was between my ticket when I bought it and the current ticket)
5. Go back to Iceland, but oh.. all reasonable flights were full!

So I was supposed to be stuck in London, alone, over new years eve. So I'm sitting in the airport, because let's face it I had nowhere to go.. Had no clue what I was supposed to do so I check again if there was nothing available... They then tell me that a big family had just cancelled so Id only have to pay 160 pounds for the ticket change...

I take the ticket and run to catch my flight since it was leaving in less than an hour. Going through the security I was a bit nervous because the line was so long and I had little time. The security guards notice and stop me for an additional check, which is taking forever and Im waiting in line for over 30 minutes, meanwhile I'm talking to a guy waiting there with me. He was going to take the same flight as I so we were stressing out together, so anyways, he get's through the check before me. When I finally finish and come running my gate was closed. Then I notice the guy waiting with me in security going "ah finally darling, there you are" turns out he had lied to the Etihad people saying his girlfriend was left behind so they'd wait for me. aww

now I'm on the last flight which is 8 hours.. I sit down and within a minute I notice the worst has happened. Next to me was sitting a guy with seriously the worst smell I've ever felt. On top of all that I was sitting with not 1, not 2, not even 3 but FIVE babies infront of me!! all under the age of 5 and all crying at the same time so at the end you couldnt even make out how many they were becasuse theyre crying got all syncronized.

well at least I had this penguin documentary to watch on the flight and I can fall asleep anywhere, no matter how loud or bad smell there is

the past week

Ups.
I have been so lazy the past week
I actually had to search for my computer tonight because I haven't used it for so many days...
So what has happened the past week?

Kex got a new penguin, I am very happy about it

My adorable little sister took the batteries out of the clock claiming that "Just because it's a cheap clock doesn't mean it doesn't deserve a brake like everyone else" hahaha who thinks like that?

Only the bruises on the back of my knees after pole...

We started wearing tacky sweaters at Kex.
Everyone has to wear them.. this is the least tacky one, some others have stuff sticking out of them... very american movie-ish

& Christmas came to Kex!
How cozy!

hahahah... oh dear, I can't really imagine a gay frog or something

Oh my god & yesterday night was so romantic, there was a meteor shower, or more like a hundred of them. Went out and laid down in the grass & watched it at 2 am. Never mind the fact that I was already sick and got even more sick after that stunt... Some things are just worth it.

This is really as cheap as the tickets are ever going to get. Trust me, I should know I check flight tickets more than I check my facebook messages...

Even with the cheapest offers (which are the ones that you have only 24 hours to decide where and when to go) these are slightly cheaper, and you have enough time to decide now so... GO GO GO

pole fitness

Yaay, I'm back!!

It's so much fun I could spend hours there! It's also insanely difficult, bruises all over!!

I'm just happy people look at it differently now than some years ago, I'd probably be doing it anyways, but it's more fun when people don't think you're the fast track to becoming a stripper hahah!

the most fun thing about it though is how fast you learn stuff, within the first 3 classes you'll definitely be able to hang upside down & spin in circles while letting go with your hands. Probably even in the first, but I guess it depends on your instructor

anyhow, I recommend trying it out at least, it's surprisingly fun! :D

p.s. pole dancing and pole fitness is not even close to being the same!

what would you do?

I was watching this like crazy last week! I think it's because I don't want to study and this makes me feel a bit better about it because it's at least a bit related to psychology...

So anyways, they hire actors to do something that goes against our ethics & then they record peoples reactions..

They do this with all sorts of stuff...
unwanted flirtation
a waitress hitting on your boyfriend/girlfriend right in front of you
a dad rejecting her daughters boyfriend because he's black
bum bashing (the intro into that one seriously made me cry)

We all think we'd be the ones doing something & standing up but actually when all comes to all nobody does anything... We all look around pretending everything is alright to see if anyone else is reacting. & since everyone else is doing the exact same thing all you'll find is others being calm, when in fact they're doing the same as you thinking "wait, should i do something??" So basically at the end we are tricking ourselves into thinking everything is ok.... does that make any sense??

Here's one episode.. people actually walk past a kid that's lost. You'd like to think that if your kid would get lost someone would stop on the street and see if it's alright... buuut as it turns out almost nobody does.

I just went from one video to the next from the suggestions at the end of each video..

have fun!

Photoshoot with Guðbjörg

My friend Guðbjörg was doing her final project before graduating photography. She had this really artistic idea to combine pictures of me & something that's related to me.

So, in the three pictures of me she photoshopped trees, the sky, a dock, the ocean, birds & a bit of my house. All in all it kinda represents freedom, which in my opinion is the most important thing in life.

I really like the outcome, she's going to be a great photographer!

Here's a link to her site where you can see more of her pictures :)

Keep an eye out for her ladies & gentlemen!!
